Minnow Bucket- Success

Models 525 and 535

The Success is one of the few buckets I can date with a fair amount of certainty.  This was an oval, floating bucket, with no outside pail cover.  It was one of the higher-end buckets, with IX tinplate. Later versions had a sunk top for ice.  This 1904 Cream City salesman catalog has written in pencil "new" next to the Success, and was a late catalog addition.  This original version was offered in green, but it was also offered in red (the only red bucket I'm aware of in the Cream City line), and also in blue.

This 1913 salesman catalog has the words "Dropped" written in pencil next to the Success.  One interesting note is the listed color ("Red, with decorations"), which is a rare color for Cream City buckets; the Success is the only bucket I'm aware of offered in red.  The Success was not listed in the 1915 catalog.
